Didier Repellin, the architect
in charge of Château de la Chaize’s restoration
In Christophe Gruy’s opinion, Château de la Chaize is one of the most beautiful wine-producing estates in the world. Nestled at the heart of the Beaujolais region, of which he is particularly fond, the acquisition of this property has brought a truly major project into being.
This project is twofold.
On the one hand, return the estate to its former glory, with a complete restoration of all of its buildings under the supervision of internationally renowned Didier Repellin, Chief Architect for France’s Monuments Historiques. Among some of his many projects, he restored the Villa Medici in Rome between 1995 and 2013 and more recently, Lyon’s Hôtel-Dieu.
On the other hand, transform the entirety of the wine-producing estate by committing to an ambitious, through environmental approach in the aim of creating a model and emblem of viticulture that is in perfect harmony with its terroir and environmentally respectful from all points of view.
